Who told you that you need to create a blog to make money online? Its a big myth!!! In today’s Friday Interview I am exposing 10 fiverr sellers who make living from fiverr without having a blog, without being a power social media user-who can easily get 1000′s of shares and retweets. Believe me, some of them are actually making $1000/ month by just outsourcing their skill on fiverr. And that is without having a strong web profile or massive social media followers.
If you are new to the term fiverr, it is a market place where you can get any of your work done, by spending just $5. Some people may argue that on fiverr you won’t get quality work. But from my experience I can say that, fiverr is one of the best online outsourcing market place. For those who don’t believe in quality of fiverr, please watch this video. This video was actually created by a fiverr guy for promoting my Google Summer of Code ebook. ( This work cost around $20 -25)
Its a Different Interview Experience
If you are a frequent visitor here, you might have noticed that I had been interviewing various experts on different fields on this friday interview column, including freelancers to CEOs of established firms. But this interview is really a different experience for me. Because one nature of fiverr is that the sellers are mostly anonymous. They don’t even tell their name. You may feel like the work is done by a machine or something. So idea behind this interview is to bring some fiverr sellers to the real world so that people can learn how they are really successful.
In this interview I’ve asked 3 questions to 10 fiverr sellers. The questions are
1. What is your name exactly? (lol!)
2. How do you get started to sell gigs on fiverr since it is really harder to sell before you have good testimonials.
3. How did you promote your gigs (if any)?
And here are their answers…
Fiverr Sellers Exposed
1. qsera who will write 400 words article on any niche for $5
Note: She is the editor of my Google Summer of Code ebook
Name: Yogini Bhambhani
How I started:
As a newbie, it is difficult to sell gigs on fiverr. You need to have a lot of patience and determination and this is what kept me going. Its been more than 2 years since I am selling my writing services on fiverr and I must admit that I am doing pretty well. Here are some of my tips that could help you in becoming a successful seller on fiverr.
Always create gigs that are informative. The gigs should provide accurate information about the services you are selling.
Try to add a video for showcasing your service. Buyers are always attracted towards videos.
Try to create a gig that is unique. Think of some different service that only you can provide.
Research well about the other services that are been provided by different sellers on fiverr. This would give you more ideas and you can then create creative gigs.
How I promote my gigs
There are many different ways to promote gigs like adding your fiverr link to facebook, linkedin, google+ or any other website. However, I have never promoted my gigs. Actually I could not find a reason to promote them as even without promotion my gigs are selling well. Touch wood!!
2. Katsenis who will help you with your college admissions essay for $5
How I started:
Yes, people respond to testimonials. You must fill a need. Sales start slowly. Do excellent work; do better than excellent!
How I promote my gigs
No promotion. But I do ask for positive feedback if the buyer does not leave any after a few days.
3. CurtisCandy who will make funny high def. Video for $5
Tip:Read carefully because he is also explaining what should you take care before purchasing a gig.
Name:
My real name is Rusty Williams. I was a professional wrestler for over 30 years and my most used, most loved character was “Curtis Candy”. I grew really fond of that character, so I do my online and entertainment related adventures
How I started:
To get started, I made an intro video for my Fiverr gig, explaining what I do, and also made a longer video with full length samples of what I could do for people and posted on YouTube and put the link to that video in my description. That’s how I got my initial customers.
Once I had done several gigs, I made a new video and provide a link on my description that feature completed gigs. I’m fortunate that a lot of people have found these gigs funny, and now come to hire me for their project.
I believe you can be successful on Fiverr in virtually any area as long as you offer something unique and interesting. Even if the overall concept isn’t unique as long as you put a new, creative twist on things, there is a market for you… Be creative and you’ll do well on Fiverr.
How I promote my gigs
As I mentioned above, my initial interest came through people seeing my gig on Fiverr by using a search or on the “New Gigs” page when I started, then I hooked them in with my video.
I have also used 2 Fiverr gigs where people have Tweeted my gig to their followers. I’m careful before buying anyone’s gig. I read their feedback and I can get a real good idea if their followers are real people. I also looked for sellers who have followers who are into Internet Marketing, as those are the people who are likely to need a promo video.
I didn’t get an overwhelming number of gigs from these tweets, but certainly enough that I more than tripled my $5 investment.
4. Crazyeve who will help with anything German related
Name: Ivo
How I started:
I started with only one Gig, the “I will help with anything germany related”. I created that Gig, and almost forgot about Fiverr completely, until 5 days after the creation, the first mail arrived, asking whether I could help her with a special problem. I did, and earned my first Gigs. From that point on, I simply kept adding new Gigs until I had used all the 20 that I could.
How I promote my gigs
I do not promote my Gigs anywhere. Since I am mainly a photographer, I do not really want to connect Fiverr to my usual “credibility”, that’s why I do not promote my Gigs through the channels I could use. I only get my sales through Fiverr directly.
5. HackerGeeks who will remotely fix your PC and remove virus for $5
Name: Lawrence
How I started:
Getting started on Fiverr isn’t hard, but you have to choose something that many people would like. I chose to start a remote tech support service, because computers are a part of our daily lives. Countless companies charge hundreds of dollars for “professional” tech support, but we offer the same thing for a very appealing price.
To be successful on Fiverr, you need to do everything you can to prevent negative feedback. It is not mandatory, but we offer a money back guarantee on all our gigs. If a single person is unsatisfied, it would be better to offer a refund rather than receive negative feedback. Another big thing to remember is to always deliver your order earlier than the estimated delivery date.
How I promote my gigs
You don’t need big testimonials to sell your gigs because people can create various Fiverr accounts, purchase their own gigs, and leave positive feedback for themselves.
There are several different ways to promote your gig. Two of the best ways to promote your gig, is to create a website or create a Facebook fan page. Check out our website: www.HackerGeeks.com
6. alanletsgo will deliver 10,000 views to your YouTube channel for $5
Name: Alan
How I started:
The best method to gain popularity on Fiverr is by having a lot of reviews. Offer gigs that hold great value, but that you can complete quickly.
How I promote my gigs
I don’t promote my gigs. I signed up for Fiverr.com when the website launched and became a Top Rated Seller quickly.
7. freestyledesign who will create professional logo for $5
Name: Unknown (lol!, he (or she) still recommend not to tell his/her name because it is against fiverr tos)
How I started:
You start by maxing out your the allowable number of gigs, as many as you can think of and when something works you go with it. Try to offer a real service.
How I promote my gigs
The best way to promote is to use videos on fiverr. Add them to your gigs.
8. leedlancer who will do a professional logo design for $5
Name: Prasanna
How I started:
Of course a good testimonial bring you jobs.. but consistency and repetitive sales shows your brilliance and expertise.
How I promote my gigs:
I haven’t started any promotion campaigns buy just share on Facebook, but it is not really helps in this case..
9. doforfive will create QR code designs for a website URL with an image for $5
How I started:
In my opinion, yes. As positive feedbacks with encouraging words are growing, the sales follow. however, that’s not the only thing.
There are many sellers in Fiverr who offers the similar service as mine, thus I need to offer something that stands out. For example, I offers 2 custom QR code designs while several others only offer 1. Also when my buyer gave me a website link to which the QR points to, I visit it and learn his business and try to think his way, his preferred model and colors, as much as I can. hopefully, this way can save my time because buyers usually accept my 1st concepts without any revisions which ALSO made them satisfied with the outcomes. in the end, they are usually willing to leave a positive feedback with encouraging words.
How I promote my gigs
I usually promote my gig in Facebook. In addition to that, I also create squidoo lens, post comment in other related blogs and so on. I think you, as a blogger understand this -the SEO thing-, way better than me
I just put as many inbound links as I can out there. And also, I just noticed (from my one of my buyer), that my gig is in an ebook written by someone I barely known (glad to know that). The writer recommends my service and he eventually put my link in his ebook and it helps me promoting my gig as well
Therefore, a link from your blog can help me in one or another way.
10. Always will do a kinetic typography for $5
Note: He is the guy who made a promo video for me.
Name: Aman Jain
How I started:
Yeah its quite hard sometimes to start on fiverr because people generally picks the gig only with positive feedbacks and ratings..
So i searched around what buyers mostly want to buy and listed gigs accordingly and af course your behavior with buyers should be very humble so they gives you a positive feedback!
The more positve feedback you have more orders you will get
How I promote my gigs
The best way to promote gigs is to use a video describing what your gig offers.. this way buyer can be assured of the quality he will be getting and might order as well..

Sometimes I contemplate if folks truly take time to write something original, or are they only just dishing out words to fill a site. This certainly doesn’t fit that mold. Thank you for taking the time to write with awareness. From Time To Time I look at a page and question whether they even proofread it.Fantastic work with this article.
